Dear Visitor,

Hello! We are so glad you found us! Welcome to our Auctions and Buy It Now sales!

We invite you to look over our item listed here and also visit our eBay Store where you can see everything we have listed this week for sale: st.antiques store

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We are here to assist you.

Thank you and Good Luck with your Bidding!

Description: Up for your consideration is a LARGE, 5 1/2 inch, very handsome, hand carved jade horse, realistically modelled with left foreleg partially extended, the forward-facing head bearing a determined expression, stone of fatty white hue with extensive brown mottling throughout. Some ancient type calcification. We were told that this kind of mottled-coloured jade was very popular during the Ming dynasty as it allowed animals to look more realistic.

This week, we are selling a number of wonderful, old, antique, Chinese works of art, including a large, beautiful, 19th century Chinese mottled green jadeite water buffalo evaluated by the same expert at $2,000-4000 and also included in our $9.99 Summer Sale! Please be sure to check it out, too!

Notes: This large sized, antique calcified, mottled brown and white jade horse was personally and physically examined three years ago by the head of the Asian works of art department at Freeman's auction house in Philadelphia. He has frequently been seen on the Antiques Road Show television series and it was he who provided the appraisal and estimates of value for this piece. He valued this large, archaic style, 5 1/2 inch long jade horse at USD $1,000 - USD $2,000. Freeman's auction house is the oldest auction house in America, having been established in 1805. It is a very well-respected auction house that handles high quality art and objects, including Asian works of art. You can rest assured that you are getting a good quality object when it has been passed through Freeman's hands.

Key Words: Chinese jade, jade, white jade, brown jade, calcified jade, Ming, Qing, horse

Length: Approx. 5 1/2 in., 14 cm

For Shipment Outside the USA and Canada: We will be happy to ship Japanese woodblock prints and other items to international countries, however, shipments to some international countries are restricted. Please check with our "Excludes" list found in "Shipping and payments>Shipping and handling>Excludes" or inquire directly to us with your country name and your postal code. Please keep in mind that exchange rates vary each day and the actual shipping cost will be based on Canada Post calculations after you have won your item.

Combined Shipping: We are happy to combine items for shipping, however, all items must be purchased on the same day. We will combine up to 9 woodblock prints* in one package for you for the same price as 1. More than 9 in a package will cause an increase in price, but we will be happy to do that for you upon request.

*A Special Note with Regard to the shipping of Japanese woodblock prints: Canada Post is, unfortunately, for us and for you, not at all as cheap as the United States Postal Service. Cardboard stiffeners placed inside our oversized shipping envelopes will add more weight to the package and Canada Post will absolutely charge plenty for it. We can also send your prints in tubes if you like, but again, Canada Post charges a lot more for "round" packages. We have collected and sold antique Japanese woodblock prints for more than 30 years and have never had any problem with shipping our woodblock prints in large, oversized envelopes without the cardboard inserts, but if you want it, we can add it for you at Canada Post's additional cost, but you must let us know in advance of your payment if you want this additional packaging. Having said this, we do understand that some prints can be very valuable now and priced in the many hundreds and even thousands of dollars EACH, so under those circumstances, we certainly can understand your concern and will be very happy to package your prints any way you like.

Payments: We accept PayPal. Payments are due within 2 days for Auction-Style Listings. Payments are due immediately with a Buy It Now.

Shipment, Tracking and Signature: We have a very good track record of ALWAYS shipping our items in a very TIMELY MANNER ... within 3 business days... and many times our shipping is done on the VERY NEXT next business day. Please keep in mind that our woodblock prints are being shipped from CANADA and may take longer to arrive to you in the States or Europe because of border crossing and international delays. ALL items are shipped with a Tracking Number and if the package is valued at more than $250 a signature is required. If you would like a signature required for something valued at a lesser value, please ask and we will add the Canada Post service charge to your invoice.

Insurance: Basic shipping insurance is always included by the post office for a shipment, the covered value of which ranges anywhere from $60 to $100 Canadian dollars, depending on the country of destination. Additional insurance for higher amounts during shipping will cost an additional amount as per the post office and is available upon your request. If the value of your purchased item is valued more than $60-$100 Canadian dollars, we strongly suggest that you purchase additional insurance for your purchased item(s), especially for things like glass, porcelains and anything else you might consider precious.

Feedback: We like to follow up with you after you have received your item to make sure that everything has arrived okay and all in good order. If you have any problems, please let us know right away and we will try to help. We want to make sure you have a good experience and enjoy the items you have purchased from us. Why? Because we LOVE our repeat visitors! ...and also because we want to make sure that you are enjoying these lovely items as much as we have over all these past number of years. Our auctions and selling venues are in English and your participation in our auctions and sales venues constitutes that you understand our Terms & Conditions.

All buyers are strongly advised to inspect all items before auction as all items are sold AS IS, WHERE IS. Although the Auctioneer/Seller makes every effort to express accurate descriptions and commentary given to Buyers online, in the marketing material or written interactions, the Auctioneer/Seller makes no guarantee or warranty of any kind with respect to the physical condition, size, quality, rarity, medium and materials, age, authenticity, provenance, culture, source, or historic significance of any goods. Buyers must depend on their own review of the merchandise. All merchandise is sold AS IS, WHERE IS, regardless of condition, or additional review of merchandise gained after the sale. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

Bidder & Buyer Requirements: Please note that if you wish to bid on, or buy, an item you find in our online auctions or in our eBay Store you will need to meet our "Buyer Requirements". If you feel that there might be something in your eBay profile records that might preclude you from bidding in our auctions or buying from us, please let us know and we will be happy to discuss it with you. Our acceptance of bidding by buyers who have been restricted from bidding or buying is on a case-by-case basis.

Payments: We accept PayPal payments from the PayPal registered Buyer who won or is purchasing the item. We do not accept third party payments. Please email us prior to bidding with any concerns or questions you may have regarding payment. Please contact us after the auction has ended to let us know when your payment will be made. Payments must be received within 2 days of the auction ending, at which point the item will be offered to the underbidders if your payment has not been received.

Shipment to Some Countries Not Available: We do not ship items to certain countries. Please check the list of restricted countries. If your country is on our current restricted countries list, but you would still like to bid on this item, we strongly encourage you to let us know at least 3 days in advance of the auction. Our acceptance of bidding by Buyers who are located in restricted countries is on a case-by-case basis. Nonetheless, for insurance purposes, we will only ship items to countries that are NOT on our restricted list. If you have an address in the US, Canada or another country to which we ship, we will be happy to ship to that address as long as it is the Confirmed eBay and/or PayPal address listed in your PayPal Account Profile.

Shipment to Verified eBay and PayPal Addresses: All Buyers are requested to have a PayPal account set up to pay for the item they have won. They should also have a Verified Shipping Address that has been verified by eBay and PayPal. PLEASE DO NOT BID WITH ONE ADDRESS AND AFTER AUCTION REQUEST THAT WE SHIP THE ITEM TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS. WE WILL NOT DO THIS AND YOU MAY RISK THE SALE BEING CANCELLED BECAUSE OF "ADDRESS PROBLEMS".

Third Party Shipments: We do not ship to third parties. The item must be shipped to you at your confirmed eBay and/or PayPal address. If the item is valued at $250 or more, someone will need to be available to sign for the package upon receipt.

Shipping Cost: The shipping cost charged to you on your invoice is based on the cost that the actual Carrier (i.e., post office, UPS, FedEx, etc.) charges to ship the item to your confirmed eBay and PayPal addresses. The shipping cost may also include the cost of extra packaging and/or boxing and crating, such as when you purchase an item that needs to be packaged in a custom made crate or if any additional packing materials are needed or requested.

Requesting to Falsify Customs Documents: DO NOT ASK US TO FALSIFY VALUES IN CUSTOMS DOCUMENTS. We will not, under any circumstances, falsify Customs documents or declare a false value for your won item when importing an item into your country. It is an international illegal act to do so and criminal charges can be filed against anyone doing this or anyone participating in collusion with an importer to do this.

Requesting to Mark an Item as a "Gift": We do not mark our auction and sales merchandise items as "Gifts". All items sold will be marked as a "Sale".

Customs, Import Duty Tax and Other Charges: The buyer is responsible for all customs and import duty taxes. The shipping cost does not include customs fees or any other tax duties or charges that you may incur for importing the item into your country. All Customs, Import Tax Duties and other charges are the responsibility of the buyer.

Abandonment of Item: It will not be our responsibility if you choose to abandon any item at the entry point to your country and there will be no refunds for an item that has been abandoned.

Returns and Refunds: We do not offer returns or refunds. All items are sold "AS IS" and "WHERE IS". Also, we have been told that ALL antiques going into China must now STAY in China. If you are in China and you have received an antique item and then try to send the item back to the seller, then your Customs officials will seize the antique item and it will be lost completely. So you need to understand this new law in China. What you buy, you must keep or sell to a fellow countryman.

Caveat Emptor: It should be expected that vintage and antique items are not always perfect. We include numerous photos with all listings and most photos can be enlarged for more careful viewing. If you are uncertain about the condition or age of any item, please ask questions before bidding. We are usually able to respond very promptly and will provide as much additional information as possible to assist in your evaluation of the item. Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid as this is an ESTATE ITEM and ALL SALES WILL BE FINAL. We will be happy to supply further photos and and answer any further questions upon your request.
